Gaming professionals are invited to make their voices heard in the 2019 edition of the British Casino Awards by submitting their votes in a number of categories before Wednesday 2 January.

The awards, which launched to critical acclaim last year, is organised by Casino International publisher Datateam Business Media in association with the National Casino Forum (NCF) and serves as a platform for championing excellence in the gaming sector.

Entries for the 2019 edition opened in September and manufacturers, operators and individuals from across the gaming industry were keen to submit their entries and nominate other incredible companies that they work alongside.

As the scheme has now moved in to the decision making stage, those vying to win a prestigious accolade can only rely on their impeccable reputations and rally the support of their industry peers – with some categories being decided entirely by an online vote.

Gaming professionals are invited to pick their winners in a number of categories, including Independent UK Casino Operator of the Year; Multiple UK Casino Operator of the Year; Overall Casino Operator of the Year; European Casino Operator of the Year; Best UK Marketing Programme; Best UK Casino Customer Service; Best UK Table Gaming Product (including ETG); Best UK CMS/Software Product and Best Slot Machine.

The winner of the Best UK Casino Restaurant accolade will also be decided by an online vote but in this particular category members of the public are permitted to vote in addition to industry professionals.

Submitting a vote in the British Casino Awards is quick, easy and free. The online form will be available until the deadline of Wednesday 2 January.
An anonymous panel of experts will be tasked with rigorously reviewing the entries in the remaining categories, which include the National Casino Forum Diversity and Inclusion Award; Corporate Training Investment Award; Rising Star; CHIPS Corporate Community Engagement Award; CHIPS Community Engagement Award (Individual) and the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

Finally, in response to industry demand, an additional ‘judged’ category has been introduced for the 2019 edition of the scheme; the Outstanding Contribution Award. This accolade will be bestowed upon an individual – working for or with a supplier – that has made a significant and positive impact on the UK casino industry.

The online vote will produce a shortlist of five elite companies/individuals in each category, to be announced on Monday 7 January. Among the finalists will be the 2019 winners which will be revealed – along with the finalists and winners in the judged categories – at the British Casino Awards ceremony.

British Casino Awards heads to Quaglino’s
Royalty and nobility have passed through the doors of Quaglino’s and on Tuesday 5 February, the iconic restaurant will host the gaming industry’s most elite – providing a glamorous backdrop for the 2019 British Casino Awards.

Set in the heart of London’s St. James, the venue oozes decadence and will ensure that every single guest at the ceremony can enjoy a hard-earned evening of celebration and networking in the lap of luxury.

Speaking on the new venue for the British Casino Awards, media director Paul Ryder says: “After the success of the 2018 event, we knew that we’d have to pull out all the stops to top it.

“I’m certain that Quaglino’s will provide the perfect atmosphere for an evening spent celebrating the gaming industry’s very best and our guests will enjoy a night to remember.”

The ceremony will begin with an exclusive drinks reception, allowing guests to catch up with industry peers and friends, before sitting down for a spectacular three course meal with wine. The high profile awards presentations and entertainment will follow, hosted by critically acclaimed comedian Sean Collins.

The central location of Quaglino’s will ensure that guests are spoilt for choice if they wish to continue their post-awards networking and celebrations into the night, with an abundance of bars and venues in close proximity.

Tickets are now available to purchase online using a secure form available on the British Casino Awards website. With limited numbers available, those that do not want to miss out are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment.

Support for industry excellence continues to grow

With the British Casino Awards in full swing, the prestigious line-up of industry names pledging their support to the ‘awards scheme with a difference’ continues to grow – with Cammegh among the latest to sign up.

Founded in 1989, Cammegh’s focus is to manufacture, to the highest precision, the world’s finest roulette wheels and billboard display systems with a team that is committed to embracing, developing and inciting change.

Speaking on the company’s support for the scheme, sales director Andrew Cammegh says: “Cammegh are delighted to sponsor the British Casino Awards; for us it is an opportunity to celebrate the leaders in UK gaming.”

Cammegh continues: “For us, praise is an important part of our business; it lets us know where our strengths and weaknesses are. Events like the British Casino Awards gives a platform to honour those at the forefront of the British casino industry and being shortlisted alone is an achievement.”

Interblock, which pledged support to the industry Awards scheme during its inaugural outing, has also secured its position as a sponsor for the second year running.

The worldwide leading developer and supplier of luxury electronic table gaming products sets industry standards with its multi-player gaming devices, and provide the ultimate in luxury interactive entertainment experiences. Globally recognised, Interblock’s collection of fully and semi-automated electronic gaming tables and video gaming solutions provide casinos, arcades and gambling halls with superior product performance and their guests with an unforgettable gaming experience.

Speaking on the brand’s continued support for the Awards, global director of marketing Jamie Garrett says: “We feel that the British Casino Awards is the perfect way to recognise all of great UK companies in the sector, from operators to product developers and those that demonstrate excellence in leadership.

“It is so important for us to look back and acknowledge the great strides and innovations that we have all made over the past twelve months.”
Commenting on why she is keen to see members of the industry at the ceremony, Garrett continues: “The gaming industry is very small and the opportunity to catch up and socialise rarely presents itself. At shows, it’s often too hectic to be able to see colleagues and peers so the Awards is a unique opportunity for people from all corners of the industry to come together and celebrate each other’s accomplishments.”

Also sponsoring the 2019 event is TCSJOHNHUXLEY. Executive chairman Tristan Sjöberg comments: “TCSJOHNHUXLEY is delighted to sponsor the British Casino Awards, as this is a great opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate individuals and organisations that have excelled.”

Sjöberg continues: “The Awards bring positivity and pride to the industry whilst challenging us all to be better. It is a great showcase for our industry and its talent.”

Other British Casino Awards sponsors include Everi and Passport Technology – in addition to supporters of the scheme, CHIPS and the European Casino Association.
